    Lads,

With so many players wanting to play a syndicate game but not being able to commit to the other game on offer, i propose a different idea.

With the help of JP, how about running a €300/500 FO or alternatively a €300 plus 1 rebuy or top up at €200. With the latter option, i'd take up the rebuy/top up option and if everyone did likewise, we'd be guaranteeing 1in 20 a ticket.

We could sort out some syndicate details where maybe only the FT get a % of the winnings and where any sponsorship deals are 100% for the player.

All ideas welcome and we could run the blinds/starting stack/time loc etc for whatever suits JP and the majority of players

This sound good, FT only & a 50/50 split?

Whatever the majority go for is good. Not gonna put an ideas forward until we get an interest list

I think it makes sense that the person who finishes 2nd should get a higher % than the person thats knocked out 1st, but i do think that all players should have a % however great or small.

    Just my 2 cent

I'd play the game i suggest above as a straight satellite with no syndicate involvement and only €10k packages awarded but if we need to do it as a syndicate, which seems to be what a lot of people want, i'd rather only have a staggered % given to the FT finishers. If everyone wants each member to get a % then i'm good with that too

im just giving my 2c, but i think only the final few should get % final table per say, with staggered percentages. Also 50% for the player is the least they should have - considering the time and work commitments they are taking (time off work etc)

i agree, after all, having worked so hard and then having to take time off work and then that bopring trip to Vegas and all that drinking you would have to do, not toi mention the womanising etc, sure how is a guy to enjoy himself if asll he has to look forward to is 50%,

actually now that i mention all these hardships,,,,,,,,,,,, count me in

300 + rebuy or top up of 200 with 1 in 20 to represent the group

i'm going anyway, so if i win i want to have the option to nominate a 2nd player to represent me and my 51%

any takers ??, please make a list

    1st up, best dressed

    This sounds good,count me in.....
final table players getting a % is a good idea, but i'm thinking an even split as opposed to staggered percentages,as this wouldn't distort final table play in any way,ie winner takes all.Probably wouldn't make much of a difference but it might.....
    Any thoughts on this?

ps.fair play to jaques for all the original work and for getting the ball rolling, live sats for wsop are scarce to say the least.

How does June Bank Holiday Monday sound?

That's exactly what the syndicate was becomming; a regular satellite with the awkwardness for seat winner(s) that they'll have to "give away" half of their winnings if they make the top 250 or so.

Say you get enough people for two seats. Great! Right? For the seat winners - yes. But for the syndicate? Say one of them doesn't make the money and the other wins 10K. I can already see the response: "Meh, only a few quid each, let's not bother distributing it." How would this knowledge affect the seat winner's game when ITM and having half the average stack? He'll win nothing more by cashing out twice as much. Maybe I'm seeing things too dark, blame the "solo attitude" out there...

Solksjaer did a fantastic job with the Irish Open syndicate. Too bad he passed for organizing this one. It seems that I am "not fit" to pull off a similar thing off for the WSOP. I'm still hoping that the syndicate game will be played (30%/70%, that is) as I think its a great system and would love to play in it myself.

As for this one, a regular satellite. I cannot play in it, but I'm sure you'll get the numbers.

JP, the Macau festival is on that weekend and i reckon we'll be missing a few if it goes ahead that weekend. How about the following Sunday or Sunday after?

Forgot all about that. It doesn't make sense to do it that weekend.

Might be best to do it either the 17th or 24th June.

Has anyone looked into the cost of flights and accommodation. I know the Gold Coast Casino which is next door to the Rio is very reasonable.

I would defo include accomodation in the Rio in the package JP, you will get loads of interest in this and I know if I (by some act of God) win a ticket I want to be in the Rio itself during the tournament......Its just much handier during the breaks etc.......

I was thinking Sunday June 10th would be a good day for this.

This would allow players to play PE's satellite for the WSOP aswell if they want which will be on the holding Saturday.

    Any thoughts?

    JP,

I'm going to try and get an interest list up for this game tonight when i get home and tomorrow and see if its worth seriously thinking about it. I know u need a lot of time to organize it so i'll let u know asap where we stand.

    Cheers

    Tony

i was going to book the Rio but the only reason was the handyness for breaks etc

considering how far the bloody card room is from the hotel and the crazy cost differential of (in my opinion) better hotels and the absolute madness of "sorry sir but we dont do long stay here" and " how many days?? --no way sir, we dont let people book for anything like 30 days" all this made me book the Golden Nugett,

its right accross from Binions, who are running tourneys every day during the WSOP and i feel there is a better atmosphere down down, I will hire a car when i get there anyway, so i am free to do as i like, when i like etc

Golden Nugett costs approx $80 average per night over the perion for a basic 4star room, i do mean 4 star, quite excellent really. a spa suite, with panoramic views of the city will cost approx $180 average per night over the same period,

www.americanairlines.ie will fly 1 stop via chicago for $823 approx including taxes (return) thats about the best available right now, having looked at e-bookers, travelocity, pathfinders etc etc
at least, thats the best if you want the least travelling time and want to avoid going through the UK, which i did

so, a 10 day trip breaks down like this
    flight approx $900
    hotel approx $900
    wsop main event entry $10,600
    total cost $12,400
    approx €10,000

    JP,

Theres not enough interest being shown in this to warrant organising a venue, dealers etc so i wont bother pushing for it. Thanks for offering the help though.

    Cheers
