3V/Paypal not working...at all

I bought a 3v voucher. I signed up to paypal. I registered the 3v voucher as a visa card with paypal. Then paypal says they're going to send me an "expanded use" number to my credit card account statement (i.e. to my 3v account) and that I have to type this number back into paypal before I can use my funds. A lousy €20. Now this number may or may not be included in one of the transactions listed on my transaction list on 3v.ie, but I can't find out because when I go to try to enter an "expanded use" code into my paypal account, it won't let me log in. It won't actually let me log in at all, even though I'm definitely entering the correct login details. Then when I try to do the recover password thing, I do it correctly, but no email is sent to me re: resetting my password.
Paypal says something about cookies being enabled for login to function fully, so would the fact that I'm trying all this on a college computer have any beariing? I'm using my own portable firefox off my USB disk, though. Maybe if I knew how to enable the cookies on that I could then login??

    Any help?
    Thanks!

It could have something to do with cookies or the college network. Not sure how to enable the cookies on FF portable though.

to enable cookies on FF portable just go and click on tools ...options then click on the privacy tab then click accept all cookies. it should have been enabled when you installed it though.

    did u follow these instructions:

    log onto paypal.com
click profile ---> financial information----> credit cards

if you then click 'Add'. when you enter your card number?

PayPal do this to verify that your supplyin teh right info, if you can register a mates/family members credit card... let paypal take €1 then refund it back... once you get your expanded use number, you can then chop and change different credit card numbers....

it wont make you do this each time, just first time :D
