Simple Photo Manipulation Programs

Looking for any programs that are easy to use that can be used to manipulate photos: turn them B&W, solarise, sepia etc.

At the moment I use Mediachance's B/W Works http://www.mediachance.com/digicam/bworks.htm but I was wondering if there where other similar free programs about.

GIMP is a very popular free piece of software. Google it and download it for free. It's pretty versatile from what I've heard and should be able to do whatever you need it to.

just gonna say that. doh !

here's a link to what it can do, including a link to the original. very handy if you use flickr as it integrates very cleanly with it.

It's for windows only and is equivalent to between Photoshop 3 and 5,
