The Universo is a nice hotel near Termni , you might get a good early web price if you book early

Generally I wouldn't recommend staying too close to Termini as I don't think it's a particularly nice area, much like most cities' main train stations.

Last time out we stayed in the Grand Palatino hotel. It's a bit of a blast from the past in terms of decor, but it's a great hotel. Rooms are nice, service is super and it's within 5 minutes walk of the forum and the colloseum. We booked it on Venere.
