Video problem

I recently downloaded a video file with the intention of putting it on my zen vision (m) and watching it on the tv with the video cable. When it downloaded, it turned out to be a bin/cue file so I mounted it and converted the DAT file to AVI. When I now try to put it on the mp3 player I get this error message.

The player cannot convert the video file into a suitable format because the Direct show (R) codec required is not installed on the system.

Anyone got any ideas as of what to do ? Ive searched for direct show (r) but cant seem to find anything.

    Any help appreciated.

Its the software that is telling me that it cant accept the file not the player so I dont think updating the firmware would do anything. How do I re-encode the video ?

You can get what you need here: Scroll down to about half way to get the download button.

You could also download & install the Klite Codec Pack as it covers most eventualities.
