    Hey,

I'm putting down engineered flooring down on a floor upstairs in my house. I'm removing the old floorboards cause some of them are rotten. The engineered boards are 14mm thick. Just wondering, I should probably put down ply first, and not just put the new floorboards directly on the joists? And what thickness should I put down?

    thanks,
    J

Put down plywood first.Use ply the same thickness as the floor your taking out, usually 18mm.
