    I am not sure if this is under the right forum or not but I was wondering does anyone know whether or not you require planning permission for a slatted house for sheep or cattle.

    If it's over 200 sq.m., then, yes, you do. The relevant information is contained in this part of the Planning and Development Regulations (Rural), 2001.

    PP required if structure is;
    1. Over 200metres squared
    2. Existing buildings (Class 6 livestock structures) plus new/proposed over 300sq metres on aggregate
    3. Structure is 10m from public road
    4. 100m from neighbouring dwelling/business (unless occupents give written permission saying they don't object.
    5. Structure is over 8m in height.
