    Hi,

I have SKY for 7 years and am still a subscriber. What's best (cheapest) way of getting a new sub with new box (possibly SKY+) with free sky sport/movies offer etc for 2 months?

Can I cancel and take out a new sub in wife's name using a different account for DD? Will the fact the sub is on the same phone number ring any bells?

    Anybody else do this?

    L

As such a loyal customer they may offer a free upgrade. Complain that the box is very very slow as it is 7 years old.

Doing what you suggest could be construed as Fraud as the free install is only one per household.

However I got a nice new box free six months after I cancelled and pointed out I couldn't resubscribe as the box almost dead (it was 6 years old).

Just wondering what the cheapest option was.

Surely I who have been paying SKy for years should be entitled to same offer (if not better) than the person who may be with NTL for the last 7 years and only now changing to SKY....on the lines of mobile phone upgrades etc.

They may, but it is at their discretion. The only thing you are entitled to is the channels you subscribe to. You own the gear.

They will do a lot to get new customers (The First One is always free). But if they think you are hooked?

Offer to cancel (but mean it). Tell them how long you have been a customer. Your box must be slug slow on current software.

I bet they will offer a good deal for Sky+ upgrade :)
