any catch buying logic pro 7 on ebay?

    seems like this is only 470 bills on the bay but about a grand on the apple site,whats the catch?

    Is it an academic license? That kind of thing is common on Ebay.

    As long as you follow the usual guidelines for safe shopping on ebay (i.e. make sure there's genuine feedback from real people who've bought the same product) I'd say it's *probably* safe enough. I don't know how its done, but its very common to see Apple products on sale at huge discounts compared to what the cost is through official Apple channels. An Apple guru friend of mine referred to this as the grey market - in short, its legal and it works, but there may be issues with warranties and/or support. That's only hearsay though, so don't take it as gospel ;)
