An overly friendly family of hares have taken a liking to the Copper Beech trees I planted a few months ago. In fact, they have devoured about 1/4 of them beyond any prospect of regrowth. Anyone got any ideas to deter them that isn't fatal ..... though it might come to that!!

You need to put a "cage" around the trees....

The trees need protection by fencing around the outside of them with chicken wire and a couple of stakes. They might not look too pretty, but this will serve the purpose well....

You could try using Rabbit Guards.

    Most garden centres stock them.
