This is the only fight I've seen, sorry for wasting space with the thread.
Gonzaga did brilliantly, he did so well from full guard and he was doing great on his feet from the very beginning. Clearly couldn't give a **** about who he was fighting.

Herb Dean standing them up was ridiculous in my opinion, Gonzaga had done really well since taking CroCop down and he'd thrown an elbow and then a punch just before he stood them up, both of which looked to me like they hit him. He'd clearly decided he was going to stand them up already. In the end it suited Gonzaga clearly, but if the tables were turned it would've been a very cruel decision.

Gonzaga v Couture? What's the story there?
Maybe it'll be a bit clearer when I watch the Arlovski fight haha.
Who else is due a shot? Sylvia? Winner of Arlovski - Werdum? Straight to Couture & Nogueira maybe?

I've never been so stunned watching a fight before. It took a long time for it to settle in that cop had been ktfo by a head kick. Gonzaga really impressed me. You're right he was doing some nice gnp before Herb incorrectly stood them up. Would have been nice to see Dana's face after it happened. With all the money they invested to get cop, he needed that result like he needs a hole in his head.:D

I thought that too at first. In saying that, the kick made Gonzaga a star to alot of casual fans in an instant. They portrayed Mirko as a monster (and rightfully so) and Gonzaga blew through him.

I really wanted to see Couture Cro Cop though.

I just loved the irony of that kick. I thought 'oh it looked like gonzaga kicked cro cop in the head, let me just rewind to see it properly' aaaahhh!

I feel thrice stupid now, I counted out Couture, Serra and Gonzaga completely.

The rest of the card seemed boring enough.

Why doesn't Elvis let that Machado black belt game out of its cage?

cro cop got caught out badly. He thought the kick was aimed for his ribs
as he just slightly dropped his left arm to block it. Totally
left himself wide open for it. Serious power behind it though!!

Yup he dropped the hand alright. Never thought I'd see crocop KO'd by a kick to the head. He didn't seem to start though. Reminded me of one of his fights against Fedor where he just didn't get going.

Yep, I don't know how much you saw but Randy came into the ring afterwards and shook his hand, said he was looking forward to fighting him.

He did say before the fight that he would be more worried at having to face Gonzaga than Mirko. Presumably he figured his easiest option would be to take Mirko down and beat him on the ground, it'll be interesting to see how he plans to fight Gonzaga, he's not as 1 dimensional like Sylvia was.

I hadn't seen him fight before but read that he had top-drawer BJJ, I couldn't believe he let Bisping escape the Rear-Naked

That was fatigue more than anything. Bisping set such a relentless pace that Elvis face wa sin a mess at the end of round one and he was wrecked. He was unlucky to not finish when he got Mike's back, I think he was thinking about going for a top arm bar from his back, but when he went for it the Count just rolled in to squash it. Excellent seeing Bisping go for it like that in front of his home crowd.

yeah i was shocked. Crocop is a great fighter, and to be beaten by his own specialty head kick caught everyone off guard. but once Gonzaga landed a few great elbows to crocop on the ground you could kinda see a victory coming

    From interview with Mirko:

    Q: What determined the outcome?
A: Gonzaga's elbows to my temple. When I got up, my vision was blurry and I didn't even see that right high-kick.

He also said that he is gonna train elbow defence next time.

I agree totally, what a kick!! cro cop looked fairly rooted to the ground though by the time it landed, it was not totally out of the blue good work had been put in before hand, it was just the delivery
