Am I the only Irish person using buyandsell.ie?

I've put up ads for a number of items on buyandsell.ie over the last few months and EVERY response I have gotten is from a Nigerian. Are I the only Irish person using the site?

One was 'willing' to pay EUR500 to ship by DHL a EUR150 stereo to Lagos for his sons birthday, and more recently, one was willing to pay EUR2,800 for a PS2, and another EUR250,000 for an MP3 player that had been dropped down a toilet and was covered in faeces.

Has anyone else gotten these stupid replies where they can barely string together a sentence yet use email addresses like paddy_oconnell@something.ie?

Should buyansell.ie block non Irish IP addresses from registering?

I see what you mean, Buyandsell is very dead lately, I tried selling but its no competition to ebay... Thats definatly taking over.. I stll am a bit intrested on how can you not make money out of that 250,000 for broken mp3. They must be all fake bids or offers...

Why are you trying to sell an mp3 player that fell down the toilet and is covered in faeces in the first place?

Haven't used buy and sell in years, managed to sell a few things but a lot of hassle with it. After that it was the For Sale section on boards.ie which moved to adverts.ie.

i found the site useless when I looked at it, it only breaks peoples location down in to pronvinces, instead of counties :eek:

Apologies, someone else offered me EUR 250,000.00 for the item and I have agreed to sell to her unless you can top this price - plus postage on top of that of EUR 50,000.00.

A couple of things I should have mentioned earlier:

1. the player smells of faeces
2. the player is a bit sticky from the aforementioned facese
3. the player can only hold 10 songs
4. the player plays songs in reverse (music is played backwards)
5. the players battery life is 15 minutes from a full change
6. the players usb port is broken so can't sync with computer
7. the players display is broken (from the toilet water getting inside a crack)
8. the players headphone socket/jack is also blocked (with faeces) so can't be used.

Is this a problem?
