Shorstack is just an idiot shortstack and his hand can be ignored.

Villain is a standard nittish TAG ~ 20/16/2.5 over about 50 hands.

I am running at something like 25/20/3

    Seat 1: VC2823127 ($34.77 in chips)
Seat 3: breadmonkey ($47.75 in chips)
    Seat 5: mirinda222 ($8.25 in chips)
    Seat 6: saman86 ($50.10 in chips)
Seat 8: ardo82 ($75.10 in chips) DEALER [villain]
    Seat 10: Iceman3Killer ($82.35 in chips)

    Iceman3Killer: Post SB $0.25
    VC2823127: Post BB $0.50

    Dealt to breadmonkey [6h 6s]
    breadmonkey: Raise $2.00
    mirinda222: Call $2.00
    saman86: Fold
    ardo82: Call $2.00
    Iceman3Killer: Fold
    VC2823127: Fold

    *** FLOP *** [8d 6c 9s] {pot = $6.75}
    breadmonkey: Check
    mirinda222: Allin $6.25
    ardo82: Call $6.25
    breadmonkey: Call $6.25

    *** TURN *** [Kd] {pot = $25.50}
    breadmonkey: Check
    ardo82: Bet $4.00
    breadmonkey?

Raise or call? My thinking when he bets here is that he has 77 since he really looks like he wants a cheap card. I presume if he had a higher set he would be raising more to protect his hand. I think he'll probably flod if I raise but I don't want to let him outdraw me.

    All comments welcome.

EDIT: I just reread that and had forgotten that I was oop. This is really all over the place. Still, if anyone can help me...

Say he does have 77, your are ahead now but he has 10 outs. He is hitting almost 24% of the time.
You have 2 options, call or raise. The pot is currently = $29.50
If you raise and he folds you win the pot. You said you dont want to make him fold.
BUT if you flat call you will only ever win the current pot. You shouldn't get any more money from him if his outs miss. He cant think he is good with 77 only.
Flat calling cant be an option.
Any raise less than half the pot (16.75) gives him odds to call and draw, and he will probably call worse than that due to implied odds.
You have c.$35 behind, not much more than the pot.
I was going to say ship it here, but that might let him get away from it, maybe raise $25, and leave $10 behind. He may call the $10 bet on the river into the $95 pot with a weak hand.

Thanks for the replies. I thought about this hand afterwards a good bit and thought for some reason that I was on the button. What actually happened was that I timed out on the flop and checked. When it came back around to me I wanted the villain on board but I basically never know what to do when there is a shortstack all in since the hand obviously has to be shown down.

Is there any point in trying to disguise your hand in this situation or should you just pump it and hope that the villain has a hand he likes?

Bet flop, failing that raise and do the same on the turn

You should really be betting the flop afer raising preflop with that hand UTG. I am not sure what you're looking for here. It seems easy enough, doesn't it?

    All one can eat.
