MMA League Limerick 2007 Results

Round two of MMA League 2007 is now in the books and what a second round it was! UL was the venue for the Munster leg of the League this year, our hosts Debra Donovan and Alan Hannon (some of you know him better as the Cannon!) had everything in fantastic shape when we got there and it made running the event over the course of the day very handy. Before I announce the results I have to thank the people who made the day such a roaring success.
Michelle and Paidrigin for keeping the fighters ready to go so no time was lost between bouts, and I think we can all agree they did a tremendous job.
Clive Staunton for refereeing and calling it straight down the middle each time.
Sean Leonard on the still camera for making a pictoral record of the event, check out the MMA League Website to see the photos.
Alan "The Brnemeister" Byrne and Darragh Kirwan for keeping time and score for the whole day, no easy task!
Lastly and most importantly all the fighters and coaches who made the trek to Limerick, without your continued support the League wouldn't still be the fun competition it is.

The Fighting Ireland prize for Best Submission was awarded to Adam Slawinski of Baltic Fighters Kilkenny for a tremendous comeback to win by arm bar.
Fastest Submission went to Tom King, both of whom received 75 euro worth of equipment from the Fighting Ireland store. Thanks to Eoghan for running the equipment stand all day and the continued support of Fighting Ireland.

Don't forget, the fighter with the most points at the end of the year will receive an extremely generous Fighter of the Year award from Fighting Ireland.

I would say TJ Davitt versus Dylan Costigan at 70kg would be a war as would Ian Ward versus Liam O'Toole at 80kg. Anyone see these fights?

There's a few people there who I wouldn't have down as rookies, are these typos or has the ruling changed?

There was a couple divisions where there was only one veteran in the group, in those instances the veteran had to be lumped in with the rookies. Unfortunate, but it happens sometimes. The Rookies in those matches all acquitted themselves extremely well however, the final match of the day springs to mind
