The Phoenix! Lovely Stuff.

Hey guys.

Here's the low down.
Basically I've decided as my 20th bday present to me I'm gonna get that side piece I've been talking about getting since forever.

I've decided on a fantasy phoenix. And not so long ago in one of the tattoo mags there was this wonderful one done on a girls side. It was out about a month ago or so. When I went back in the next day to buy it, it was gone!!!

Can't remember the name of the mag. It's not Skin and Ink tho. I know that for sure.
If anyone knows the pic I'm talkin about, let me know what mag it was so I can get a copy somewhere.

Anyways. if I can't find it I've found this amazing piece.



I want to modify it a bit so it's more fantasy. Brighter colours, Bold outlines, bigger eye.
It's gonna start pretty much Beside mr right breast. I wanna extend the tail right down onto my thigh.

If anyone has any ideas on making it brighter/more fantasy like, do let me know.

Plus artist recommendations? I have an artist in mind, but I'd like your opinions too.

They will be very bright as I said. I want this to be an amazing eye catching piece.

Pricey too. Anyone got an idea of a price range? I have never had such a big piece done before.

Thats a nice piece to start with, and with the changes ya mentioned it's only gonna be better! I'm trying to find a decent design to adapt into a tribal phoenix for my left shoulder too, but it's trying to find one that has both the bird and fire elements to it that is still something I like, and that'd fit in with the dragon on my right shoulder!

I think for your design (to me anyway) would really look good with some little bits of flames dancing along the edges of the wings or end of the tail...

Yeah, the one that was drawn does look like legs, but i'd change it so the tail feathers were longer and there were three of them. And I'd add in the claws.

A phoenix tradtionally doesn't have legs or claws as it never lands.

That second phoenix looks very like the first, even the tinyiest colours in the tail tips etc

I'm not after the whole 'REAL phoenix' look.

I just want it to be pretty.

Work is being a bitch. I wanna take a week off to get it done fully, but they're moaning about it.

If you have a 2/3 days off together, why not try to book another two around that, might be enough time to get it done, and may be easier negotiated?

So even getting that off is hassle.
