Just wondering if anyone on here can help me..............my 9 year old son has just begun to take an interest in golf and I thought I'd bring him for a game of pitch and putt........ but I don't know where the nearest place to me is, we live in Bray. Any ideas would be great, thanks in advance :)

There's a few places in Stepaside, Pucks castle is up that way too which is a nice little track. Probably the best one up that way is 'The Burrow'. If you're heading from Bray its about 300 yrds past Stepaside Garda station on the left.

There's one in Enniskerry too, not to sure where it is. I think it's when you come out of the village and head up the big hill, about 5 mins up on the right.

    Hope this helped :)

Used to be a fab one at Lamb's Cross - But there are about 500 huses there now!!

There's a decent one at Johnny Foxes and you should also check Golden Pages - They list them under Pitch & Putt Courses.
Marlay Park also has a Par Three course, a bit tougher but one to aim for.

    It is closed for re-construction.

yeah, the johnny foxes one isnt bad. Although I think there is two about there - a small one really close to Johnnys and a bigger one up the road a bit. depends what your after

Puck's Castle isn't bad. A green fee will set you back €8, the greens aren't great but then I don't expect many pitch and put course have good greens. There are some decent holes on it that will require a lot more than a 9 iron or wedge.

He should join Loughlinstown Pitch and putt club, i know it looks a bit small from the road but it would be perfect, it's a members only club so he'll meet new kids there, they have weekly comps and they also play open comps around Dublin and when hes a bit older all over the country, I'm speaking from my experience, I joined when i was ten, left when i was 16 and the skills i gained down there still stand to me today, I play off 5 but i hit few fairways and greens and to be honest rely too much on my short game, btw i,m going for my first ever golf lesson this wednesday.

I played the pitch and putt up at elm green on saturday. have to say, i was pretty impressed. For E5 it was a bargain. Great for the short game. Longest hole is about 70-80 yards but it's tough enough. It was quiet too so i was able to go round it a few times.

I have a 9 yr old son also interesed in golf . If you want to join a local club most won't take kids until they are 10 - a lot of clubs have waiting lists. My son won't get into the local Portmarnock Pitch and Putt until he's 10and a half they reckon. Get his name down ASAP somewhere!!

Glen Mill golf course is just off the N11 Southbound after Newtown Mount Kennedy. Might be a little too challenging for a though as it's not strictly pitch and putt - it's a Par 3 Course - some holes can be 150+ yards. Might be a good place for him to play in a few years though

Wouldn't that make it par 3 golf ?
You are only allowed use 2 clubs in pitch+putt( one has to be a putter)

I don't think that one has been there for years.
