Terrorizer Issue:151 November 2006 – Bloodstock Festival Review
...Mael Mordha are ****ing sensational; what strikes so clearly amidst the usual folk/metal signifiers they execute with such devastating freshness is the clarity of the vocals, the way the stripped-down honesty of the voice makes the emotional intent so intimate whilst the music is so expansive and suggestive. So whilst the band are plunging into pagan depths and cosmic highs like off-the-hook spiritual hooligans, Roibeard's vocals are this steely, seamingly ancient, aching presence in the midst of it all, coming on so disarmingly unmannered it's terrifying, genuinely frightening in a timeless way that so many screamers and squealers couldn't manage. Perhaps band of the weekend - certainly way more deserving of a main stage presence (than the likes of Omnium Gathering, Machine Men or Sworn Amongst)
