the other night when i was drunk, i was with a guy, who a friend of mine has been with before. She found out from one of the girls i went out with and is extremely angry with me and won't talk to me etc. It turns out she really likes the guy. i honestly didnt know this at the time (i found out the next day!), and i feel so bad about it.

i am going to try my best to talk to her about it when she comes back to college, but i don't know what to say, or even how to word it?!! any suggestions on how to deal with this?

You didn't know she had been with him or that she really liked him?

Either way, try and make your case clear in this - and stress that you were drunk and it wasn't exactly planned etc.

i didn't know she really liked him - we dont talk much bout lads we like etc. thats why i was shocked and felt so bad the next day when i found out. i'm only afraid that she pressumed i knew she liked him and did it anyway!

You didn't know so I wouldn't feel bad at all. Plus it's not like she is going out with him

I never understand this about girls HE chose to be with you. So whatever problem your friend has is non-existent, because he obviously didn't want to be with her anymore, so why would her problem be with you.
This wouldn't happen with guys. there'd be a few slaggins and that's it

    thanks for the replies!

yeah i see your point, but she's the kind of girl that takes everything to heart! Wouldn't be angry if it happened to me, but thats life!

yeah lads are great in that line, us girls alway seem to blow things way out of proportion!!

I've been in the same position myself, on a night out I was with a guy that my friend had been with a few months before. They weren't in a relationship or anything, and I knew my friend was interested in another guy, yet she still got really annoyed with me. All you can do is give her a few days to calm down and then speak to her. You've done nothing wrong and I'm sure she'll come to realise that

Ah for feck sake, the girl doesn't own him. It's not like you stole something of hers. What gives her the right to be so possessive of him if nothing's going on with them? Women are so mental!

The fact that you were drunk is besides the point you didn't know.
Now if she only recently broke up with him then you should have known better but if the break up was over a year ago it's not your fault unless it was really serious and she was heartbroken, but it doesn't sound like that.

Just tell her you didn't know and that you would not have done anything if you knew she still liked him. If she can't accept this then she is still very emotional and you'll just have to give her time.

Does she have papers stating that he is her property?

Seriously, if guys talked like this about girls... there would be fnckin bloodshed.

    DeV.

I think it's more the "you knew I liked him but you got off with him anyway" thing, rather than "I have decided that by dint of having a crush on someone I therefore have sole rights to what they do with the rest of their lives". That's not to say it's any better, but I don't think it's girl-specific either.

Saying that, OP, you didn't know, and even if you did you can't be expected to keep your paws off everyone your mates fancy - espeically if they're getting nowhere themselves - so she needs to just get over it.

thanks a million guys!! was getting a guilt trip of some of my friends

Ha, just shows how differently people react to stuff, personal opinion: she's over-reacting! she hasn't even heard what the story was like!!
