Anyone know where I could find a cheap pair of cable crimpers? It's really for once-off use on a phone cable so I don't want to have to spend too much.

    Thanks.

This one is 22 europeans at Peats. It will do your normal phone (RJ 11 and network cable RJ 45).

Lidl had some tools on special during the week, not sure about cable crimps, perhaps someone else has a better memory than I!

Woodies, in those wooden boxes of cheap tools there's a crimper and some connections for 7 quid. I saw this in the woodies at the Red Cow but the coolock one also has those wooden bargain boxes.

I've just ordered one of these bad boys. STG 6.23, including postage to Ireland.

Try Hector Grey or any of the cheap walk around shops. Average price €4. Mary St. is good for walk around. Try the shop with the loudspeakers outside saying "get that key cut - now!".

Avoid the Peats one - they are useless and overpriced!!

Or, for the cheapest of all - just use a flat-head screwdriver to drive the connection down onto the wires. Works a treat.

This is OK if you're doing 1 or 2 plugs, but try doing 10 or 20 that way and you'll either a) be well annoyed at half them are not working or b) have a hand covered in blood...
