Yeah its called bilateral facial weakness, it happens to people alot. You have to go see a neurologist about it.
    Looks very freaky though!

Yeah when I was quite young I was in visiting someone in a hospital and I saw an old dude asleep with his eyes half open. Freaked me out!

Kids I used to babysit for (before they grew up, damn children!) used to sleep with their eyes opened. The parents never thought to tell me. I though the baby was dead. Freaked the **** out of me. I nearly died myself, to be honest. Turned out he was fine, I woke him when I screamed, and it took two hours to get him back to sleep. When I realised what was going on, seeing it in his sisters was grand. Not quite as funny at the time as it is now...

I've seen my sister asleep with her eyes open a few times. Gets confusing when I try to talk to her, it's like she's looking right at me! Very creepy, she always stays up too late watching tv, falls asleep but appears to be wide awake...

Yep, guy a went to school with used to do it. He warned everyone before we found out, so we weren't too freaked out. Also know someone more recently who does it... but it's not eyes fully wide open, its more half open

I won't bore you with my life story but suffice it to say that there are people after me. I have to be alert all the time. Fortunately, I have successfully trained myself to sleep with my eyes open.

It happens to me every now and then... when i wake up i blink and squint for about 10 minutes with dust on my eyes. Gross.

Really only happens when i'm exhausted or especially stressed though.

My brother does it. I can also have conversations with him when he is asleep... handy, as he can't tell a lie in that state!! :p

Ah yeah, the best was when my auld lad came in drunk one saturday evening and asked me to order him a curry. He actually fell asleep when he had the curry on his lap. Two bites i think he took. Anyway i savaged it but left the empty plate on his lap, i splashed a bit of curry sauce and a few grains of rice on his shirt and wiped a bit of curry on his lips so when he woke (which could be any minute as he was a bit like that) he taught he ate it. That curry was massive. His eyes were closed at all times though, even when he was awake.

I was on the Asgard with a guy who slept with his eyes half open. I had to call him to go on watch at about 4am one morning, and when I walked over to him, I said "Oh great, you're already awake". Couldn't understand why he wouldn't respond! It was really creepy when I figured it out...

Have always wished I could do it. Becomes a very useful skill for monday afternoon lectures.

supposedly i sleep with my eyes open. i'm told it looks really freaky. One lad thought i was dead when he saw it. He was calling me repeatedly and i didn't wake up for ages. would freak me out too tbh.

My sister used to do it when we were younger. I'd roll her over to face the wall.....I'd get no sleep looking at her freakiness otherwise!

If you ever see this, get a bottle of "No More Tears" shampoo and pour it in. You'll find out soon enough if they are really asleep.

My sister and brother both do this. When I share a room with her I used to go over and make her turn over or pull her sheet up, otherwise there I was trying to go asleep with her staring at me, very freaky.

I find it hard enough to keep my eyes open while awake, never mind while asleep. Thankfully I have never seen someone sleep with their eyes open as it sounds right freaky.

I used to work with a guy who could somehow sleep with his eyes open and tap the keyboard. We all thought he was taking the piss, but he was really asleep, and anyone who waled by thought he was awake.
