Podcasts be spoiled??

When reading episode threads a lot of them seem to have posts about podcasts they heard about the next episode, and I was thinking that for myself certainly, I don't want to know about it. I want to discuss the episode and past episodes that may be relevant to the plot but I don't want to know about writers confirming that x is going to die or that y is actually so and so. I don't even want to hear rumours tbh because I love the surprise of Lost when I watch it.

Some are even minor details like
the fact that we haven't seen Jacob yet, according to the latest podcast
which was posted in the 'Who is Jacob?' thread or who the flashback is going to be on in the series finale (can't remember where this is mentioned - I think in the 'Who is going to die?' thread). There was also a comment on a podcast that confirmed something about
Ben's knowledge of the Swan hatch
which is in the episode thread for 'One of Us' - the transcript to part of the podcast is even posted.

Do you think that podcasts and rumours should be spoilered or am I in the minority here?

I'm not flaming anyone at all here and if you are the poster who posted some of the examples above - you have done nothing wrong, because it seems to be standard that people can post confirmed rumours and talk about podcasts in episode threads.

EDIT: just formatted better (forgot to close my bracket!)

I think they're more teasers than spoilers. If you want them as with the spoiler tag though, I could see why...

    Podcasts should be spoilered

Rumours definitely should I think, even if they are unconfirmed.

Just saw this thread after posting in the "who d you think is going to die" thread, and I think what the OP said here is exemplified by that thread.

hmmm I'm probably guilty of mentioning the podcasts a lot but I usually do it in threads that have spoiler warnings in their title. The writers never give away huge spoilers in the podcasts anyway (ABC would kill them) instead they just speculate and clarify little details so the fans can stay on the right track.

I would the consider the podcasts as having the same amount of spoilery material as the promos and sneak peaks have, and they are both freely discussed without the need for tags in threads which have a spoiler warning in the title.

Aye i don't listen them anymore at all. I don't want to find things out before they happen. I supose if you listen to them then you kinda have to expect a few spoilers.

I'd be inclined to agree that anything significant should be spoilered.

Depends on the circumstance so I'd like to just leave it up to common sense...

    (I may regret that ;))

Is there really a circumstance to where a spoiler should be censored. I mean a point is either a spoiler or it is not. There is no in between. :)

Yeah but there's promo/pre-airing threads for that so surely podcasts can be discussed in those threads instead of in episode threads, which they often are.

Hey Killaqueen, your right and I've probably been bit careless with this in the past. I apologise if anything I've mentioned from the podcasts spoiled anything for you. I'll be more careful in the future, I promise :)

In fact I think I'll create a new/separate thread for the posting and discussion of the podcasts. This might keep some of the more immediate discussion that arises from a new podcast out of the episode threads, where, as steveland said, anything significant should be tagged.

Good idea Prof, more and more people are listening to the Podcasts so having a thread for them is a great idea.

    Thanks everyone!

There's still the odd comment in threads like Catch 22 but you can't really be picky about these things. If I see words 'podcast' 'writers' 'confirm' 'rumour' then I just scroll down!

You will never eradicate spoilers from all threads :(. I suppose its just part of the forums.
