Just wondering is there anywhere you can buy pc's built with multiple monitors in mind. Thinking of upgrading my computer and most places like dell only allow you to choose one monitor, when i wanted to add a 2nd monitor to this computer i had to buy a new graphics card so i dont want to have to buy a new computer and then go buy another graphics card. Any ideas of places where you can get them custom made

Computer section is possibly a better choice but alot of people here would have came across the same problem so i taught id try here. Maybe thinking of 2k limit

With a 2k limit, pretty much all of that will go on monitors, but as for your needing to buy a new graphics card, Flipper's setup uses a box that only needs one graphics card input, and can output to multiple monitors. It's made by Matrox, if I remember correctly.

If you're set on building a new one, though, if you buy the components, and build it yourself, you'll get a perfectly adequate setup for a tiny amount. Building it yourself is a doddle aswell, and picking components is easy with a bit of help (if you want some assistance, feel free to add me to MSN, and I'll help you out). I built a top-of-the range PC (far more powerful than is required for poker) for 2k a few years back; you'd build a similarly powerful rig for under 1k nowadays, which is much cheaper than buying it from Dell.

But if you want to make it easy as possible for yourself, you should probably just buy a ready-built one, and get one of those Matrox boxes I mentioned. Just maybe post in the computer forum to make sure that everything's compatible, and you'll be flying.

When you are buying your PC from DELL, just hit the option and they will sell it to you with no monitor. Then just go somewhere like komplett.ie and get yourself 2 Samsung Synacmaster 204b's. Job done.

Yes go to Komplett and save cash. They will build for you too. Most good graphics cards will allow 2 outputs.

When you mention the Samsung Sync 204b i see it has a resolution of 1600 x 1200 compared to most other 20" monitors that usually have 1600x 1080 is this the reason why you recommend this one. Do you think maybe buying 3 x 20" 1600 x 1080 for around €600 is better than buying 2 x 20" inch sync 204b's with 1600 x 1200 resolution for 800??

    My current resolution is 1280 x 1084 on my 22" and my 19" inch has 1024 x 768

My pc specs are 2.6ghz and 1.5gb ram and i was thinking of upgrading to the duo technology thingie's, maybe my money would be better spent on just 3 20" 1600 x 1080 monitors for 600 and keep the rest in my pocket because my specs aint too bad???

1600x1200 is the min you should get I think.

Maybe just get one 30in monster instead...
