Hi, I took this when walking home from college the other day...what are your thoughts? I haven't spent too much time on it apart from processing the HDR, and I think the horizon might be slightly off but that's easily changed

I'm new to this whole thing; is it bad that the trees etc. are underexposed?

    Thanks

Nice but not perfect. There is something on the left and it is disturbing.
Try to cut it a little and rotate it 180 degrees.
There is almost no details in the dark buildings (it could be just my LCD). If thre is something, it would be much nicer picture.

    You've asked for this... :-)

Yay something finally! Something disturbing on the left? By rotating 180 do you mean flipping horizontally? And I know the building is quite dark...that's where my limited abilites with creating HDR images comes into play.

Of course I've asked for this, it's what I want to hear!

I am glad you are so polite :-)
Yes, I ment to rotate it upside-down. When the picture is not extremly perfect and the water is like a mirror, just try to rotate it uspide down to make people think what is different about your image. And on the left - the part of the black piece of soil. I think it could be island or bank.

Ok, so I played around with it a bit. You can see more detail in the building & bank now, and I cropped it also.

Just to use the dark sky from the original picture and you're almost there :-)

I actually tried that but I thought it would have looked odd...hang on a sec

EDIT: Better? Keep in mind through all this I'm using a compact digital camera and am an extreme novice..
