didnt see that myself, i found out from a friend in college, one of our lecturers sent out an email

There's a bit of a backlog while we work our way through the signups, but they are coming. We've seen a few applications for domains we can't give (for a couple of reasons) and signups without 3rd level educational emails, but mostly they are good.

Figured that one out myself eventually - Yes I am a noob at this.

I'm just playing with it at the moment and trying to get phpalbum working (no it's not for 'dodgy' content ). But I get an error that the GD2 library is not installed. Is that not standard? I also can't find EasyApp (read that on the support pages ). I realise that this is a limited account due to it being free and all but I can't find anything that tells me what is and is not available on it.

[edit]This is probably not the best thread for these questions is it? Should I post elsewhere?

For anyone signing up to this and new to creating webpages, try WYSIWYG web builder. It's freeware (version 2), and much, much better then either Frontpage or MS Publisher for creating websites. It's what I'm using at the moment to build a very large website, and it's excellent - especially for a free bit of software that beats most other similar and retail website creators.

Do you mean you requested a .info website? The only one's covered by the offer are .com, .net and .org.

xebec: I had a list of domain extensions on the form, and I picked ".info". If I wasnt allowed pick it, why was it on my list?!

Just checked the form and you're right that .info is there. But I was just going by the front page where they say they only allow the 3 domains. Hopefully you'll still get your site!
