Telnet to SSH

I have need for some laterial thinking!

I have an application that connects to a server using Telnet. It will only use telnet and cannot use any other protocol for connection. The trouble is, the site I am implementing this application on will only allow SSH, and rightly so I suppose. I am trying to figure out a way of turning the telnet into SSH by proxying through an SSH server and placing a client on the hosting box.

Can anyone suggest anything, or recommend how this might be achieved?
