iTunes burning problem

    Hey guys,

Up until just yesterday I have always been able to burn music I bought from the iTunes store to CD. However, since yesterday I have been getting an error message saying that "disc burner or software not found". My burner is working properly, I have been able to burn files to the RW disc I was going to use with Nero 6.

I have Googled the message, and not found any resolution as such though plenty of people seem to be having the problem. I have looked at the Apple support messages, run a repair install, uninstalled and reinstalled and still nothing.

Anyone have any ideas on what I can try next?

The drive letter for the writer didn't change by any chance ?

If no try removing it from the device manager and reboot so Windows will re-install the driver.

No change in the drive letter, no joy in the driver reinstall. Strangest thing is that iTunes is detecting and naming the drive properly...

Well Google topics on the error message indicate that it affects iTunes in OSX as well not just Windows all with varying solutions though usually re-installing iTunes of the most prevalent.

Only other thing I could think of is to try a system restore in Windows to a date before this happened as see if anything changes.

That or purge iTunes from the system so after uninstalling go on a hunt though the system for any Apple folders reaming behind and in the registry.
