Just wondering if anybody has used the priority boarding service with Ryanair. Is there any point paying the extra few euros for it?

Also, not having travelled with Ryanair in quite a while, what are the departure gates like? is there somewhere to get a bite to eat?

Regarding something to eat, you do not say from what country or airport you will be departing.

It's good because you don't have to stand in line like a sheep for ages before they open the gate, you can just cruise past everyone and straight to the top of the priority queue.

Doesn't make a huge difference really, just good if you have no patience like me ;)

I used priority travel during the week, however so did about 50 other people so it lost its privilege status! It pretty much ensures that you get a seat of your choice but its not really worth it unless you are fussy about where you sit at the end of the day,.

Agree with most of the above, it's not worth the extra. Would add to it by saying that if you're in an airport where they put you on a bus to take you to the plane, priority boarding only means you get onto the bus first and still have to join the scrum for a seat with those who didn't pay for priority boarding.

Presuming you're flying out of Dublin, you could check www.daa.ie for details of the catering facilities in the airport.

I was at Stansted at the weekend, no way was I queuing as it was like 30 degrees. I sat down by the shop in the departure lounge. I watched these eejits with Priority Passes arguing over who should be in the queue. well they eventually got it sorted, some of them had paid for it, but didnt have the passes with the tickets. Funniest part was, after all their whinging they were still left standing for ages in the heat, alongside everyone else in the Peasant Queue. So they all ended up standing there for ages anyway, in the end alot of them ended up lying on the floor. I sat by the shop and drank coffee, and read the paper. I mean the plane isnt going anywhere until everyone is on !, so WTF is the point in paying for this PASS, when all it does is get you on the plane maybe 2 or 3 mins before the second line of people. I didnt stand in any Queues, and I still got on the bloody plane, and got home at the same time as everyone else. But just for the entertainment value it was fun watching these eejits moaning about not having the Yellow Pass for the Special Queue.

Even if someone who paid a bit more than me gets to board first we both have to wait at the luggage reclaim belts when we arrive. In the long run it doesn't matter.

was in Berlin last year with Ryanair.
Once you entered their departure 'lounge' area, it was just a big room, like a classroom, with a few rows of seats. You weren't supposed to leave the room once you got in.
It was packed, all the seats were taken, and people were standing and lying on the floor.
I saw a free wall to sit up against on one side, so went over.... but we were promptly told it was the area for priority passengers.
Nice to know you get your own wall leaning space for the extra few quid...

I've also seen the 'priority' queue opened up and anyone using it on my many trips to the UK.

    Not worth the money IMO.
You're gonna get there same time as everyone else.

Priority is handy in you are on a tight schedule and don't what to queue at the check in desk, so you can go straight through to departures when you arrive at the airport.

Once you are queuing t the gate it might make little difference.

On another note I love the way Ryanair allow you to choose your own seat, plane loads much much quicker.
