as the title say i am migrating back over to linux after a gap of a few years. at one stage i lived for linux, complied kernels and got into the real techie stuff however in my simplistic windows XP world i have gotten used to two programs which i cannot find a linux replacement for, namely, dvdshrink and dvddecrypter. Does anybody know of such linux equivalents for copying DVD (legally of course).?

no, i have had this problem as well. i have used a program called dvd:rip, which is a GUI-based Perl program. It seems to work relatively well for ripping. It can transcode too to your choice of formats, like XviD. It doesn't do burning, which is my problem. However I usually rip the DVD to the PC and transcode it down and save it on my server, so I rarely burn discs.
