Not Again.....Fan Trouble

Hi. I HAD a noisy ps3 and after returning it...what do i have?? a noisy ps3. Let me describe this fan noise.

Turn on - whirr and then silent.

3 mins left idle-ing - fans is close to fat ps2. Since i returned to the store....i got one from the same batch. And its a faulty batch, with this serial 02-27430420-55#####-CECH03.
I have seen a lot of complaints regarding this(on avforums) and a google of the 2743 part will bring up more complaints

Had 3 so far - have agreed refund from shop tomorrow. Just got off the phone to sony, they said the PS3 was built to be quiet and should not do this.

1st) CECHC03 P-27430420-? S01-5508***-?
2nd) CECHC03 P-27430420-? S01-5508***-M
3rd) CECHC03 P-27430420-4 S01-5500***-8

Mine is just like yours - 5 mins in, it turns itself into a a Fat PS2.

Good to hear that there may be a trend in the serial numbers, as I was hoping to go to a different retailer and get my 4th one. I would hazard a guess most of the Dubliln models are from similar batch. Not sure if the 27430420 is the important bit here or the S01-55 .....

Is the shop you bought it in quite willing to exchange the PS3 each time? How long after you bought it initially did you bring it back the first time?

Bought it Sunday, brought 1st one back Monday, 2nd one back Tuesday and will bring this one back tomorrow. Game have being very helpfull !!

I bought mine on the launch day wonder would they take it back now? Bought it in Smyths.

Only 28 days is what these shops give you I am afraid - ring Sony 0818365065, they might send a replacment out to you like they are doing for UK customers

i dealt with game aswell.....no problems. im not gonna bother trying them again. it will just be the same batch. will ring sony tomorrow.
