    Hi,

How can I find out information about the memory modules installed in a PC? I want to know the type of memory being used e.g. DIMM or whatever.

Google and download a program called cpu-z (its small) and click on the memory tab(I think) it should tell you all you need to know :)

Crucial.com have a memory scanner or enter the details if your machine in there and it will bring up what you need.

Thanks. There must be a way of finding out through Windows though? Running XP SP2 by the way

As DeafVision pointed out CPU-Z will tell you in Windows.

It's just that it's not my machine. I'll have to get the person to download the app first. I just thought there was a way to find out in Windows.

Not normally, it might tell you in the BIOS (when the computer boots up and you have to press a key like DEL, F2, etc).
