    April 23rd (next Monday for those too lazy to look at a calendar) is the official Day of German Beer. It was on this day in 1516 that the Reinheitsgebot was proclaimed. So stock up on some quality German beer at the weekend and celebrate this great day!

    Having a penchant for LIDL Pils, I will be only too glad to use that date as an excuse to indulge in a bottle or three.

    And now that you mention it, over the lunctime I indulged in another German favourite of mine, Becks Vier.

    Ya gotta love the Germans.
