    hi

I got a call from 'Ebay' asking me could they ask me a few questions. They asked me 4 or 5 simple questions - nothing devious,i.e. bank details, etc.

The number that came up on my mobile was +4451529. I emailed ebay and they know nothing about it and suggested I call BT.

I called BT, comreg and vodafone and nobody can help me to see who these people are.

Has anyone else got this call? Or if you do get it, try find out who they are.

    Thanks

    Goslie

i got a phone call from ebay too a while ago
same as u from a uk number and the guy had a british accent
to me they asked general questions about ebay, like would i consider opening a shop, how would i rate my ebay experience
seemed just a survey to me

Yeah i tried googling the number but to no avail.

The questions they asked were about my ebay experience, eg when was last time i used it and what wouldn't i buy on ebay, etc.

If they're not asking for personal details, it's probably a market research company that eBay have outsourced to.

if you were reported for false contact details (against ebay policy) eBay will ring you and only ever ask you to verify your name, account name & number, dob, address and contact number,

dont ever give out bank details or credit/debit card number over the phone.

you should report this to eircom or bt as abuse.

it's only a survey, i got the same call a few days ago. Just general questions about ebay like have you had any problems with ebay and were you happy with how ebay dealt with your problem.
