Wedding gift for best pal in Australia

One of my best friends is getting married in Sydney in June and I'll be a bridesmaid at the wedding.

I'm having trouble thinking of the right gift to give them.

They've been living in Sydney for a few years (they're both Irish) but after the wedding they're leaving on a round the world trip for a year and then moving home. So I can't give them anything house related or bulky. I don't want to give them cash either.

I'd like it to be personal. We're all going to the Whitsundays for a week after the wedding and I thought about getting them a romantic evening with a helicopter ride over the islands and a candelit dinner or something. Only problem with that is I don't know if they've already made plans for the week.

They're going to Tahiti and then South America after that and I thought of getting them something they could do there but again I don't know their plans.

I would really appreciate any ideas on this one!

Also I don't want to go overboard price-wise as the trip over there is costing a lot already!

Find out if they will be Vegas area and book them into a Ritz Carlton hotel at Lake Las Vegas (about 15miles outside Vegas with its own italian style village and casino). Get them the club room for 2 nights and I guarantee they will remember it for a long time.

The club rooms are situated on an exclusive floor of the ritz carlton hotel and the residents room provides five star food & drink buffet from 7am to 10pm in an extremely relaxed atmosphere. - Unforgetable.

Can be done at any ritz carlton hotel worldwide.
