    2.45 Ripon

Valery Borzov has to be respected but the draw could have been better. Go On Green could have been tempting at a nice price but is not well drawn either. Pickering is well drawn but handicapper may have caught up with the 7lb hike. At prices, I am siding with the fairly consistent Fractured Foxy and Riverside Dancer who is down to a nice mark after running in higher classes (bar the last run at Wol where he blew it at the start), is perfectly drawn and is looking for this firmer ground.

Anybody else with ideas to beat the bookies today?

An all out collective refusal to bet... thereby guaranteeing that the bookies get no money at all.... That, or just avoid the month of april to back horses! :D

my luck has to end sometime but lets hope it's not today!

    Newmarket:
2.00 Sky Masterson - small play e/w @20/1. Wide open race. Stoute is in form as is Gosden, Hills and Cecil. Richard Hughes had choice of K Abdulla's horses and sides with Triple Beat, while Darley gets the ride on the other Imply. However, a chance is taken on Fortune's ride, especially at the prices. He has been gelded also which might mean he is a well forward 3yo.

2.35 Eager Diva - another small play. In another wide open race it may pay to side with experience. Barry Hills has 3 entries and they must be respected. Mick Channon has a newcomer also who is entered in the Phoenix Stakes, St Leger and the Tattersails Auction Stakes so must be thought highly of. Betting may prove the best guide!

3.10 Sierra Vista needs some cut in the ground, not sure if this distance is too sharp for Asset. Assertive could go well but Richard Hughes has taken the ride on Asset. I would have a little play on Paradise Isle to repeat last years success.

3.45 Between Adagion and Thousand Words.

4.20 Depending on how Hattan goes in the 3.20 at Ripon, I might take a little ew play on Illustrious Blue. I know the form from the Winter Derby is not looking so well but some winners will come out of that race. Manduro is the form pick however!

4.55 - Yaqueen is the obvious leading contender here. Already being backed for the 1000 Guineas so looks like a lot is expected of her

5.30 - A chance is taken on Johnson's runner who has looked good over 1M 3F and 1M 1F so this trip is no problem. how he handles the turf is the main question. no heavy punting though
