this might be more standard than i think but anyway...

3 left in sateillite for macau 1500e main event.1st place pays the ticket.2nd pays 50 euro lol.

ive been playing aggressively and have stolen the blinds several times in the last few orbits.i also won a 30k pot 4 handed when i pushed over the top of a button raise with A4 which held vs KT.

villian is a good solid player.he's played tight all night but has opened his game up somewhat since we became 3 handed(i snapped off a button raise in the last orbit with AJ,he showed an ace as he folded).there's around 90k chips in play.i have around 40k he has around 20k.

he makes it 3.5k on the button(blinds 500/1k),i call in the bb with A5d.

    flop:775.

    i check,he makes a suspiciously small bet of 3k.he has 14k behind.

    push/call/fold?

    bet/fold a better line?

anyone raise/push p/f even considering table image?

sorry edited op.i felt my image was pretty bad at this stage.any raise pot committs me with stack sizes and if we get it in here were crushed like 90% of the time.

Re-raise/Fold preflop. I would fold now. If the flop was 257 I would be more likely to push

if you don't want to reraise preflop then fold

Dont have much invested in this pot now so i can probably leave it go as i wouldnt know what cards are going to help me or give me somethin to represent. big trouble if his suspiciously small bet is with a 7?? you have him marked as solid and he has passed an ace to your button raise so dont think he is putting it in with worse than you here imo. and i dont want to possibly get stuck in this pot for my tourney. not too sure bout reraise preflop either. interesting hand

this is way too standard i think. either fold preflop because with stacksizes like this you can get into a lot of trouble with those kinda hands or otherwise auto-push on the flop. after all, altho he cud be strong with any overpair, its often just a weak c-bet not wanting to commit too great a % of his stack. regardless, i know you pushed, and because youre posting it here im assuming he had an overpair. because you won the tournament im assuming you sucked out. still i dont really think u can fold unless any specific reads. to fold here regularly just coz the bet is "suspicious" would make you way too easily exploited.

oh btw i dont really like your argument against pushing preflop that if he calls you´re only gonna be crushed. after all, if he calls you mite be crushed but wot flops are you gona get it in on where you have him crushed with A5? more than likely, if it goes in on the flop, youre still gonna be a marginal (flsuh draw + overcard vs overpair for instance) or a huge dog (Axx outkicked).

rather than specifically ask whether i should fold or not,im more looking for an optimal line.fwiw villian never calls a push with worse.are stacks too shallow to do anything else?

    please elaborate

the kind of stacks that you cannot bet for info / bet-fold the flop not to mention c-r-fold the flop. in other words, the betting pattern on the flop with such shallow stacks isnt going to make it easy for you to make a correct decision. you will be doing guesswork, and for a very important stack size difference / position in the tourney.

well, the optimal line vs that image opponent o.o.p with those stacks in a satellite which only awards one prize, is surely to fold no? i mean, either that or try to take down the 5k preflop by pushing a-i preflop. because of skill edge you can probs wait for a better spot. so, fold = optimal line.

Let me clarify what i meant by Interesing hand:
it is fairly standard a hand to play out with deeper stacks i think, but with only 1 ticket to shoot at and i am involved in this pot withA5 well now ive got a flop (not a great one granted) but it doesnt bust me out of the tourney if i call,, flip side if i bust him out then i have 2/3rd of chips HU
so i say interesting hand in that could be tourney winning one

im AI i think but i am loose :)
