PS3 keeps disconnecting online

I am using Eircom 2mb broadband and when I am playing online on my PS3 I get an error message saying that the connection is disconnected. But Eircom dont know how to do this and I cannot find any info online about how to do this either and I have tried using a static IP address but that dosent work either. Can anyone help?

I'm having the same problem when I play Resistance online. Disconnects for no reason I know of. Also using broadband.
