    Hi all,

I was interested in giving muay thai a try, mainly for getting fit/in shape but also because I've always had somewhat of an interest in martial arts and this one has always intrigued me the most. My first question is this: is MT a suitable martial art to choose for getting fit? Also would it be a good idea to go running or something first to raise my fitness level because I'm pretty damn unfit as is.

Secondly I've noticed that the nearest club to me is one in the Baldoyle Industrial Estate (this one). I just wanna know if anyone here is or has been a member of this gym and if they could give feedback. Failing that i'm gonna have to go off into town which is something I'm not really mad about.

    Thanks.

SBG North is a great club. You'll find that's a general consensus on the boards here. Don't bother going running. You'll need sports specific gas for MT and running won't really help with that. Best way to get fit is learning thai BAYYY!!! Great MA for fitness.

Hey I train in SBGN but I don't do the Thai there. All the lads tell me that the coach Gintaurus is the absolute business though. Plus its a great gym to train in. Give it a shot, you're too late for tonight's session but Saturday you should go give it a shot.
