UK Delivery address.. Irish Credit Card

I've been trying to buy a GPS system from a UK website this morning until I realised that when I go to put in my credit card details, it has to have a UK credit card address.

I intend to get the GPS delivered to a friend in the UK, so no problems there.. its just the credit card issue.

Has anyone come across this before? Is there any way around it?

You could try to ring the company in question, but since your credit card has an Irish address then they're even less likely to send it to the UK address than if you had a UK address and you were wanting to post it to your friend's different UK address. I don't think any company would send a delivery to a different country than the one the card is registered in, it would definitely flag as fraudulent.

No way around this I think, if they specify UK only and the address must match the credit card then your friend will have to buy it himself.

You could also check pixmania.com, I got a GPS there last year and it was great price and works perfectly. They will deliver to alternate addresses, though I'm not sure if they would send to a different country, probably not.

The point of it is though that he'll send it on to me then. Ah well.. looks like I'll have to pay the Irish price.. flippin 70 quid more than the UK.

Ah, it's not for him at all it's for you. What website is this that charge 70 more to Ireland? That seems like total ripoff.

    It's to stop fraud.
CC companies want the retailers only to ship to the address of the card
    holder.

I've had the problem with Dell.. my folks wanted to buy a DELL system for my sister who lives in the UK.

Phoned them up and the problem was sorted. Only problem was having to place the same order with a pushy DEll sales rep! Apart from that - there were no problems.
