    Finally saw it yesterday.

I was a little underwhelmed to be honest. Yes, the film looks amazing at times, and Gong Li and Chow Yun Fat are both excellent in it, but it's a very slow burner, not just in terms of plot development, but also in direction. The CGI looks a bit ropey in places, and the action sequences aren't on par with previous work. It is worth seeing, but I did feel disappointed.

    What does everyone else think?

My review is in my sig. But yeah, I pretty much agree. Very nice to look at, but a little thin in terms of plot.

Saw it yesterday too and i was really disappointed. The settings, backdrops and costumes blew me away but everything else either didn't pique my interest at all or was just silly.

I expected a few interesting fights on par with Hero (same director) but as far as combat went there was two (almost)worthy parts
the Emperors fight with Jai while sitting down and all those assassins attempting to murder the Doctor and his family.

I'm usually able to make myself like a bad film so (in my head) i get my moneys worth but this time i found it impossible.
