Has anyone ever set up a band/replaced a band member through this website? Most replies you get are yeah that sounds great but (insert excuse here)

not us anyway. But most other avenues like putting up ads in music stores and buy and sell have so far turned out to be utter dead ends. Its all about luck and networking it seems.

Yes, on a few occasions with great results, but admittedly not by regular users. Seems passers by end up here when looking for positions available then leave soon after.
    Still worthwhile.

Got a couple of things going but no long term result. But I put that down to various outside factors, the people I was with really did want to start a band.

It may sound a bit cruel but keep an eye out for existing bands in your area breaking up and try and nab the ex members. Not something I've done myself but plenty of times I've seen bands break up and though, if I was looking for an x player he'd be great.

It's great too cos you can hear the people's previous recordings and may have seen their past gigs etc.

i have started my band from people here and replaced anyone who left through this website and it has always worked out quite well you just have to be sure if they say they are interested that they are genuine by putting down no timewasters or whatever, we just did auditions last weekend for a new singer and all 6 people turned up and on time...fantastic!
