Bad Photoshop: the Bertie posters

Have you seen those strange posters of Bertie seemingly in conversation with people..except that he isn't - the various individuals hanging on his every word have clearly been copied and pasted in.

Why would any advertising agency be so stupid as to do this? Could they not get a few people and Bertie together, get a competent photographer to shoot the proceedings and get some good shots to put on the posters?

As it is, he comes across as disconnected from real people - the total opposite of what was meant to be conveyed.

What were the people who approved them thinking?
