My GF is going to Kusadasi with a few of her friends next week. We have been together 2 years and I trust her not to do the dirt, I was just wondering has anybody had bad experiences out there with the men ? Or with anything in general? I heard they are very pushy towards women on their own (especially blondes!) and don't take no for an answer when selling/pushing stuff on you?

I had one of the best holidays ever in Kusadasi, and plan to return there soon for more R&R!

I was there about 6 years ago - it has a pretty trashy night life, and most of the clubs etc are on, wait for it, Bar Street!

Don't worry about her - if she's going with friends, then she'll be grand. Men are pushy everywhere!

Merging threads - OP, you really should post once, in the appropriate forum rather than multiple posts across different ones.

I would suggest she dye her hair if she is a blonde. My girlfriend was leered/accosted at and singled out amoungst the group she was in for that sole reason.

I was in Turkey last year but I stayed with a family in Alaçatı which is very small so not sure how it would be if your girlfriend is staying in a resort town. I had a few nights out with a friend and while we were a bit of a novelty in bars etc (despite neither of us being blonde :)), and guys selling fake handbags would follow us down the street in Çesme until we gave a firm no, it wasn't too intrusive or pushy.

As I said, I was staying with a family in a small town where everyone knows each other so it's a bit different but I wouldn't think a group of friends would have much hassle. The same rules there apply as at home tbh - don't let anyone wander off on their own, don't get drawn into buying anything/talking to someone you don't want to, don't get drunk and lost etc.

Tell her to just be aware... they are a very sleezy bunch!
