What's currently the best anti-spyware software for Windows XP, in your opinion?

I use a few (not all at the same time :)) AVG Anti-spyware, Spybot Search and Destroy (with TaeTimer active) and Windows Defender.

NOD32 :) combined with a nice bloat free firewall is the best option imho.I suppose you could also have Ad-Aware or Spybot for on demand scans every now and then.

Think I'm going to try Spybot Search, I've read Windows Defender lets the most spyware slip past compared to others.

There is no best scanner, they all use slightly different methods to detect spyware, the best thing to do is install a couple of different packages and scan with them all, that way you can you can also help rule out false positives.

Make sure you don't install more than one anti-virus kit unless your sure they can co-exist together

Windows defender is actually pretty good, it catchs stuff none of the others will but again make sure you use more than one.

    I use the following:

    Spyware Blaster
    Spybot S&D
    Ad-Aware
    AVG Anti-Spyware

    So far so good! ;)

i find AVG anti-spyware to be the best for me. But i honestly get no spyware these days due to using SpywareGuard and SpywareBlaster, so I recommend you get them !
