Any recommendations for some good "out-of-ear" headphones? Something like a Sennhauser but doesn't necessarily have to be that make. Would just like to hear people experiences with different brands and some good offers online for them.

Not willing to pay a fortune for them as i'll mainly using them for at night in the flat when i don't want my 5.1 stereo surround system blasting while the "significant other" is asleep in bed so i'm just planning on plugging them into the decoder.

Wireless would be an nice extra but not essential as the decoder i'm planning on plugging them is at the side of the couch where i'll be watching from, with beer in hand! :D

I bought my Dad (who knows his sound systems) a pair of Philips HC-8525 wireless headsets. He liked it so much that he bought another one. I'm on the lookout now for a third for my laptop. Can't seem to find an online retailer though!

them! I use them in work and I can't fault them.

check out the reviews on amazon - here

You can get them in the 3g stores afaik.

I got mine on eBay though.

They look nice alright.. couldn't find them anywhere for sale though. Well, one of two places had them for about €55 but were all in German.

Yeah.. they had the Sennheiser RS 115 for sale on iBOOD for €50 last week. I regret not buying them but i've had my last dealings with that crowd. Over 5 weeks waiting for a product for them!

Buy4Now seem to have a couple of different types of Sennheiser:

    Sennheiser CX300
    Sennheiser RS120
    Sennheisser MX50 Street Headphone
    Sennheisser MX550 Headphone

Probably all can be gotten cheaper online however..

I got a pair of these some time back...
    http://www.speed-link.de/prod.php?lang=en&sys_id=8&pb_id=8&prod_num=SL-8790
Very comfy and great sound. 4m cable on them as well so should be ok to get to your chair.

I've had a few pairs of MX550s and while the sound quality is great, none of them lasted more than a few months before breaking.

Got them as a Christmas present (after a hearty suggestion). I think she got them from http://www.shop.electric-software.co.uk/
Had a look now but the only seem to have the "Pro gamer" and USB versions there.

Is the quality on wireless headphones any good? As good as wired ones? I bought a set years ago and they sounded awful and they weren't cheap ones either. But maybe they've improved since then.

Is it for gaming or music ? If you dont mind the wires check out the Beyerdynamic DT-880, there is even a 32 ohm version

this is a good headphone review site - http://www.headphone.com/

i have the sennheiser pmx 100 - pixmania have them for 36.50 - they're about 50 in dixons.

There's a bit of a Sennheiser bargain on eBay at the moment:

    Orpheus

    :D

To quote Ferris Bueller, "It is so choice. If you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up."

(actually, it is a good price, the few that appear usually cost more).

i'd agree with the px100's. best headphones i've ever owned, they've won loads of awards for best budget headphone, 50 quid in Peats. If you're buying Sennheisers on E-bay watch out for fakes, there's a problem similar to that of the fake Pro Duo memory cards.

The high end of the Sennheiser range is produced in Tullamore, so if you know anyone from Tullamore they may know someone working there and get you a cheap set on "staff sales". (They also produce K+H studio monitors in Tullamore.)

The lower end of the range is produced in China....as are those fakes!

The reason iBood sell off stuff cheap, is because they get manufacturer's excess stock, stock runouts etc. Even a quality manufacturer like Sennheiser can make a bum 'un ;)

Watching the Gadget Show last night on Channel5 and they did a test of three "surround Sound" headphones. The dearest from Pnasonic was £200, but the one that won was a £50 job from Creative. This has an inline decoder for surround sound. Can alos be used on normal stereo output. Maybe there is a test report up on the Channel5 website.

    🧐IMHO, God wants us all to ENJOY many,many ice-creams , 🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦

    Good man dohouch!

    Found the report here!

Creative HQ-2300D won it - bit pricey for me at almost €100 though.
