Just wondering does anyone know what the story is with the foreign national dudes playing/screeching their trumpets and accordions from early morning, I live in city centre and am woken by them every single day. I am trying to study for my finals and this is driving me mad cos I can't concentrate. Are they legally allowed to play anywhere? is there anything I can do about it??

Trumpets and accordions... do you live on a ship?

If not, yeah, I think you probably have a case under noise pollution and/ or the fact that they're causing a public nuisance. Have you tried asking them to quieten down yet? Explain to them about your finals, I'm sure they'll understand.

They are all round the city centre esp round henry st/quays direction

They don't look like the kind of men I would approach, they seem to be making a fortune outta it and the last thing they care about would be my studying!!

Oh you mean buskers? Yeah, I presume that's a bit more complicated. It is a commercial area after all. As for not approaching them, trumpet and accordian players don't tend to be particularly aggressive people afaik, why not just try saying something.

They're buskers. During the day AFAIK they're perfectly entitled to play - I'm sure there's a certain time after which they have to keep it down but during the day it's grand.

Just because they're not Irish do you think they shouldn't be allowed to busk?

You live in the city centre and noise is one of the things you have to learn to accept if that's where you choose to live. Why not study in your college library? Less chance of buskers there I'd say.

I thought people needed a street licence to do street entertainment

I merely illustrating who they were so people would know who I was talking about.
