    Hi,
I'm organising a mini bus from Bristol airport to Shepton Mallet on Thursday 21st. We're flying on the 9.30am ryanair flight from dublin. Is there anyone interested in sharing this mini bus with us. There's a few seats left. The more people the cheaper for everyone.

    PM me if your interested.

We'll be going on the wednesday so unfortunately Im no use to you but Im curious of how much this cost to arrange?

Also is there anyone going on the 6am flight on the Friday that would want to hook up to split taxi costs or the like? One of our party will be on their own on that flight.

Our minibus is costing £210 for a 14 seat minibus return (via shepton) - which works out at £15 a head rtn which is pretty good. Its a private operator and isnt taking any more bookings. (we do have a few spare seats one way on the Wed leaving Bristol airport at 17.00 - pm if interested)

Bandy, I was a bit worried about booking a return for monday with the traffic. Where are ye getting collected? and how are ye getting there?

£210 return is brilliant. I've got some outrageous quotes. one was for £285 one way. 15 seat. ****!. Haven't booked anything yet.

Yeah - we got to know the driver over the last few years so the price is very decent.

Pick up is outside the arrivals building at the airport.... brought to Shepton for tix and beer and then to site.

The pick up on Monday isnt that bad. There is a coach pick up point near I think the red gate of the festival site - but we confirm the pick up point with driver when he drops us off. Traffics is bad but most of it is heading in the other directions (but we still leave 3hrs before flight - just to be safe). Also get the taxi drivers mobile just in case theres changes etc.

If you dont book a taxi - dont expect to pick up one on Monday. There are I think a few floating around but at huge rip off prices. It is also possible to get the bus back to bristol and air coach bus to the airport.

I flew into bristol in 2004 and about 10 of us off the flight booked a taxi straight from the airport. It cost 10 euros each. We were dropped at shepton mallet to collect tickets and then brought on to the site. Enjoy the festival u lucky sods.

5 of us on the 6.30am flight on Wednesday but 3 have the coach tickets and will probably end up having to spend the day in Bristol depending on when their coach is scheduled to leave. Anyway plan is for us other two were just going to try and share a taxi with someone. If we were on the 9.30am I would of definitely taken you up on the minibus offer

I think we've 8 people on that flight so if that number is akward for one taxi (which I suspect it might be) I'd be interested in grabbing a couple of extras for a second. Give me a shout closer to the time.

trying to figure out how to get to shepton mallet... flights are gone crazy expensive from dublin to bristol on wed morning and we were originally meant to be getting a lift until the driver decided not to drive and only told us yesterday...
anyone have space in a car going by ferry for 2 girlies?

Don't go the ferry route, well do if you want!

Same here for me about the flights on Wednesday to Bristol. So I'm flying into Birmingham on the Wednesday for 9.99 incl taxes and getting the train to Bristol then a Bus to Wells and another bus to Shepton! Fun fun indeed. But it should only cost 40 euros.

Another alternative to Bristol flight-wise is Cardiff. We missed our flight one year and jumped on the next filght to Cardiff instead, worked out just as handy really.

I think it's mostly that it is just such a bloody long way, especially on the way back when you are knackered.

Getting up at 6 in the morning in order to catch the ferry from Rosslare. Then my car broke down in rural Wales. Cost a bloody fortune in alternative transport, abandoned supplies, repairs and finally getting the car back.

Nowhere near as easy as you would expect. Hours of driving, hours on the ferry, nowhere near as cheap as you would expect either. Then there's the huge traffic jams that you don't have to worry about when you're on a coach.
