"everwhere we gooo oh, people always ask us"

come on, surely we can think up a better tune than that, you sing that in the beavers, up in Larch hill when you`re 6!!!

Personally I like it. Especially at England games when they just chant Barmy Army over and over. Can go on for 30 minutes. Provides a bit of atmosphere.

However the Irish supporters should probably come up with a new song as all they've done is take the English song and replace the word England with Ireland and barmy with blarney. Not too original there.

I never equated "Everywhere we go" to being an English song? As a kid on manys a school bus trip "Everywhere we go" was de rigueur! :D

Couldn't agree more - I think, although I can't confirm, that there were quite a few English fans in yesterday who assisted with this chant.

I can confirm that the person that started that chant was actually the guy that does a lot of the cheerleading for England - you know the bloke - straggly white hair, white drainpipe jeans, sleeveless top and top hat both with a george cross. He's at every England game that's played. What could we do but respond. He made his way to the area where the hardcore Irish fans were seated and kicked off a good few songs. Personally I thought fair fukc1ng play to him. It was a all a bit surreal - and when the trumpet bloke started belting out the TV classics it was a beautiful thing.

So please fogive us - we were caught up in an extraordinary moment!

That guy is either sponsored or an eccentric millionaire. He's been the main "cheerleader" on every England tour that I can remember seeing in the last two or so years :D

one of the best chants ever was by the english fans in australia in 92/93 -
"we came here with backpack - you with ball & chain"
