Trucks Parking in estate

Are there any bye-laws in Fingal prohibiting trucks over 3 tonnes parking in estates? It seems like a familiar law but I need to prove it.

There is a DAF 85 330 EuroII ATI tipper style truck that constantly parks in my estate. There are a number of issues with this truck, and many residents want it removed, but don;t know how to proceed.

    The issues are:
    1) it parks on a bend, at a green area,
    2) it takes up half the road,
    3) a child could hurt itself climbing on it,
    4) a child could be hit by a car running out from behind it,
    5) it attracts an unsocial element around it at night,
    6) it is 10 years old, battered and rustly, and is unsightly.

Could anybody give me some advice on how to proceed about getting this removed from the estate?

the mother in law was involved in getting trucks over 3 tons banned from her estate in swords a few years ago. Can't remember the details, but I think it involved a petition of the neighbours.

Will ask her how it all worked, and post back.

You could try the following Fingal Co Co numbers:
Abandoned Cars, tel: 890 6799 (they may know something about general parking by-laws)
    Law Dept, tel: 890 5490
    Road Safety, tel: 890 5824/5825

As far as I know there is a 3tonne parking limit in all housing estates. Give the guards of the council a call and they'd be able to let you know one way or another
