I'd say good (component) upscaling* dvd player, video decoding hardware used in their players has always been very good. Wheather the software in kiss players is well written is another thing, usually a little buggy, but maybe firmware updates fix that. This seems to be an oldish model, the price is okay, if your looking for something to upscale dvds/avi over component connection to projector or lcd tv probably worth considering

*edit: actually looks like it won't output upscaled video over component if playing back a copyprotected dvd. Think it will upscale avi's or non protected mpg/dvd
