    I need help really bad!

I installed a program designed for another Windows OS onto XP and it deleted oleaut32.dll.

My computer is unable to boot and show lots of errors about the file oleaut32.dll being missing.
After numerous tries I managed to get Dos prompt running but every couple of minutes the error will reappear and close the prompt.

I have downloaded the file from one of my other terminals and put it on a USB device.

But the USB is not detected in command prompt!

what do I do I need serious help.

After typing this i think i might and try and see if I can gain access to the shares on another terminal and put the file in it.Ill tell you how thats goes in a minute.

Does anybody know what to do?

    1) Start in "Safe Mode With Networking"
    2) You don't use cd to change drives in the command prompt, just enter the drive letter followed by a colon i.e. x:
    3) Learn the lesson about randomly deleting system files.

1)booted in safe mode with networking can't load anything no dos screen no nothing.
    2)says device not ready
3)I didn't know that the installer would delete it and replace with oleaut2.dll

    any more ideas?

You could try putting the harddrive into another machine as a slave drive. Boot that machine then copy the file onto the affected drive.

Assuming the above doesnt work obviously
